Chapter Philanthropy and Service
"To think in terms of mankind and our service to the world." - The Creed of Zeta Tau Alpha
Long Beach ZTAs participate in a variety of service activities in support of our community and Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropic partners. At least once a month, our members collect items and/or participate in a service event. Many times throughout the year, and especially during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, we help spread the word and support Zeta Tau Alpha's national philanthropy: breast cancer education and awareness. Zeta Tau Alpha nationally has a partnership with the American Cancer Society through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the National Football League, and Bright Pink. During the NFL's Crucial Catch games in October, our members can be found passing out Think Pink® ribbons for both the Chargers and the Rams.
Other events we can be found passing out our pink ribbons at are LA Galaxy games, LA Sparks games, Medieval Times, and at Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure events. Our Zetas have also donated needed supplies and goods to organizations such as Susan’s House in Orange and the Good Samaritan House in Long Beach. From animal shelters, local schools and families, victims of drug trafficking, and local food banks, we've done our best to contribute to our local community here in Long Beach/Orange County. We've also supported those overseas and their families here at home through our care packages and cards and through our work at the Long Beach VA Fisher House.
